The Raphael Mest Lute a musical gem - 16th September 2023 - Linköping Sweden
We are pleased to present the event “THE RAPHAEL MEST LUTE A MUSICAL GEM” September 16th 2023 – Linköping Library auditorium Sweden
The Raphael Mest lute’s
The 12 course lute of the Linkoping library is a unique case among all surviving historical lutes: in it there are in fact fragments of strings that could most likely date back to the 18th century: more precisely, these are open-wound strings on a gut core (exactly like those indicated by le Coq in 1729 concerning the five-course guitar or for Violin by Brossard 1708 and Laborde 1782), The open wound strings, or demifileè fell into disuse towards the end of the 18th century. The rather long finding of a 1st gut string is interesting: if it is original it can be a Minikin? Following a string survey completed in 2018, it was then decided to have an exact replica of the instrument, which will be donated to the library where the original instrument is kept. In conjunction with the event of handing over the instrument, it was also planned to organize a small symposium with several speakers that will be followed by a short concert.

"From the source to the ear"
A salon and exclusive acoustic concerts without microphones Both ancient and traditional music share a common pursuit of original timbre and unusual sound colors that defy our habitual listening... and would be lost if filtered through a microphone.
CantoMundi joins musicians who advocate for the preservation of living and dynamic roots. Ancient and traditional music needs to be heard in the intimacy of a direct encounter with sound—a true sound—straight from the source to the ear.
To allow the flower of ancient and traditional music to blossom, attention must be given to their roots... and roots need shade.
Here, the timbre of an instrument is like a fragrance that travels directly from the flower to the nose. At CantoMundi, music will travel from the instrument to the ear without passing through laborious wires and filters.

Aquila on the frontline for the Covid-19 emergency: from strings to 3D wires for ventilators components
Twenty-five kilograms of 3d wire for ventilators in Monza, seventy-five in Bergamo, forty-two in Rome.
All this happened in just a few days, without yet fully understanding the importance of what is happening, but driven by a crazy, powerful energy pouring out of his heart, knowing he can help his country.
This is the story of Mimmo Peruffo, manufacturer of guitar strings in Caldogno, Italy (the town of Roberto Baggio), who found himself to be the only one in Italy to produce the wire needed by 3D printers to make valves for diving masks converted into ventilators.

Aquila ukulele festival 2020!
DUE TO THE COVID-19 EMERGENCY THE FESTIVAL IS POSTPONED!
STAY UPDATED IN OUR SOCIAL CHANNELS AND WEBSITE!
Dear musicians from all over the world,
we are pleased to present Aquila Ukulele Festival 2020 edition!!
Since 12 years we have been organizing concerts and workshops dedicated to this small Hawaiian four-stringed instrument: the ukulele.
The history of the ukulele is full of adventures... a musical instrument that, if it had the gift of speech, would tell how that time from Portugal arrived to the island of Madeira and how in the 20s it became one of the most played instruments.
This year the festival will be in Arborea, an opportunity to discover the beauty of this Art Nouveau small town just a few steps from the crystal clear waters of the Sardinian sea. It will be dedicated to the golden age, a real jump into the past.
Two days of concerts, workshops and exhibition of musical instruments. Soon you will find all the information about the artists, how to get there and where to stay.
We are waiting for you!
